Blessing of Animals

Bring your pet to be blessed in the Mission's re-created 17th-century church. Pets will receive treats, and photographs of individual blessings will be available for purchase. The Blessing of Animals originated in the 13th century in remembrance of St. Francis. He believed that all animals should be treated with dignity and respect. Similar ceremonies are held across the country each October. Free. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
